Dreamforce ‘13 is just a little more than two months away, but you can already feel the excitement building in the Salesforce community. This won’t be my first Dreamforce, but it will be my first Dreamforce as a presenter!
I’ll be doing a session on Apex Trigger Development with Chatter. We all love Chatter, and it’s a powerful tool for your organization. With some relatively easy to write Apex Triggers you can make it all the more powerful and useful for your organization. I’ll be covering three of these:
- Automatically post ‘Customer Wins’ to a Chatter Group. Celebrate your victories and let others know about new deals.
- Manager Auto-Follow for big deals. Automatically add a user’s manager as a follower to any opportunity created that’s over $25,000.
- Ease the burden for your Salesforce administrator by automatically adding new users to your Salesforce Q&A Chatter Group, you do have a Salesforce Q&A Chatter Group, right?
For those of you new to Dreamforce here are my Top 5 suggestions to make the conference all the more useful and enjoyable for you.
#1 – Register for the sessions early! Sessions fill up quickly, especially the hands on, figure out which sessions you want before registration opens in October and get in quick.
#2 – Go outside your comfort zone. If you’re a developer take some sales or consulting related sessions. If you’re an administrator take some introduction to Trigger sessions.
#3 – Shoes, shoes, shoes. I have a great looking pair of wingtips that you’re not going to see anywhere near Dreamforce. You’ll be walking miles a day and tired, sore, blistering feet are a drag.
#4 – Cloud Expo. Save yourself some time to wander around the Cloud Expo for at least a couple of hours.
#5 – Get the App. The Dreamforce App for iPhones and Android devices should be available shortly. It’ll have your schedule of sessions, maps, and other very useful information.
