About this episode

Asked in the Q&A why a brewery would run production outside NetSuite, Luxent's Scott Nelson is direct: NetSuite only goes so far into a brewery's production cycle.

So this session pairs it with Beer30 by The 5th Ingredient, a production platform built for brewers, and shows the two running as one system. Scott starts on the NetSuite side with role-based dashboards for an accountant and a production manager, a hazy IPA item record that holds its bill of materials, rolling average cost, and on-hand stock by location, bin, and lot, and an income statement that drills from one number down to the transactions behind it and pivots across subsidiaries, departments, and classes.

Pulkit K. Agrawal then demos Beer30 itself: recipes with day- and gravity-based cellar actions, a brew day where mash-in pulls live NetSuite lot numbers, a batch history with cost per barrel, quality checkpoints, yeast genealogy, tank utilization, and a distribution hub fed by NetSuite sales orders, plus a quick look at barrel aging and spirits. Aaron Gore explains what the two-way sync carries and why unlimited Beer30 users keep floor staff off NetSuite licenses, and the Q&A settles how it lands in the books. Production steps in Beer30 post to NetSuite as assembly builds and work orders, so inventory and COGS stay current in the ERP.

00:05Alrighty. Well, hello for everyone and thank you for joining us today. We're very excited to have you here at Luxent's demonstration for NetSuite Brewing and distill and distilling brands with Beer30 um by The 5th Ingredient. Today is really about showing you know you a glimpse of how NetSuite works for brewing and distilleries and what it looks like on a day-to-day basis, how it kind of supports your growth and where it can help simplify your operations as you scale. So if you have questions as we move throughout the presentation, please put them in the Q&A panel um and we will do our best to answer them either live on the call or at the end of the call when we open it up for Q&A.

00:47So I wanted to first start by introducing everyone that you have here on the call today. So first up I I am Brooke Gyepes. I'm the director of marketing here at Luxent. We are a NetSuite premier solution partner and I work with our food and beverage medtech and wireless teams to kind of bring customers the resources they need to really get the most out of NetSuite. Next up on the call, we have um or next up on the call, we have Scott Nelson, our chief solution engineer and director of NetSuite delivery here at Luxent.

01:15Scott leads the NetSuite implementations at Luxent and works closely with food and beverage brands on everything from inventory and manufacturing to financial reporting and scalability. And then I'm also joined by the the Beer30 by The 5th Ingredient team. First up we have Pulkit Agrawal. I apologize. I know I said that wrong. um founder and CEO of Beer30 by The 5th Ingredient. Pulkit built Beer30 to really help breweries manage operations, production, and sales in one place. And he regularly teaches brewers how to manage their product portfolio and protect their margins.

01:48And finally, n last but not least, we are also joined by Aaron Gore, VP of sales marketing at Beer30 by The 5th Ingredient. Aaron has spent his career in the beverage industry as a writer, consultant, and speaker. And he works directly with breweries on customer adoption, brewery business best practices, and getting the most out of their production and sales data. So, now [clears throat] that you have a little introduction to who we have on the call here today, I will keep moving forward. But before we dive in, I want to quickly walk you through what we're going to be covering today, just so you know what's kind of coming next here.

02:23So, first we'll start with a brief introduction to Luxent, who we are, and why we focus so heavily on food and beverage brands. Then we'll talk through what we like to call our recipe for success with net NetSuite. So, some key considerations we see consistently across growing food and beverage companies. From there, Scott will lead um a live NetSuite demonstration showing how the system works in practice and highlighting some of the functionality that matters most for brewing and distilling operations.

02:48And then following that, we will have a demonstration by the Beer30 team to learn a little bit more about the production side of things and how NetSuite and Beer30 can really work together to bring you know that optimal kind of system for you. And then finally, we'll wrap up with next next steps, what typically typically comes after a session like this and how to continue the conversation if NetSuite feels like the right fit for you. Okay. Well, let's just jump right into it here. So, first a little bit about who Luxent is.

03:18We're a premier NetSuite solution partner founded in 2009 and based in Southern California. Our focus is working with growing companies with deep experience across manufacturing, distribution, uh specifically including food and beverage. Our team is made up of senior level consultants with strong NetSuite and industry specific backgrounds which is very important to note when building out your industry specific business. Uh we support the full life cycle. So that means from ERP selection, purchasing, implementation, integrations, development, and then ongoing support.

03:52And because of that experience, we're able to bring insight into how NetSuite fits into your broader tech stack. So not just solely focused on NetSuite, but kind of how that fits across across all the systems that you might have that really run and grow your business. And then um you know, how NetSuite works as you guys use it day-to-day to kind of complete your operations. So, we've spent over 15 years working specifically with food and beverage brands, which has allowed us to build deep industry expertise and proven best practices.

04:23We're recognized by NetSuite as a leading food and beverage partner, not only for knowing the software, but for understanding how food and beverage businesses actually operate on a day-to-day basis. So, we bring pre-built solutions and playbooks designed for food and beverage, which really helps to reduce any sort of customization needed, lowers your risk, and accelerates your time to go live after you purchase NetSuite. And most importantly, we act as your long-term partners. So, we're really focused on supporting growth well beyond, you know, your initial implementation.

04:54It's not just implement, leave, you guys hang in there. We support the full life cycle to continue growth within your business. But don't just take our word for it. Here's a a snapshot of some of the food and beverage customers that we work with. Um, so you can kind of get a feel that that you might be in good company here. So, with that, I'm going to pass it over to Scott Nelson to kind of walk us through next steps. Scott, over to you. Thank you, Brooke. Um, so, uh, NetSuite Luxent, I'm going to walk you through a little bit about us.

05:28for uh NetSuite number one cloud ERP in in the world. Uh fast growing uh year-over-year uh thousands of clients joining every year. Um it continues to grow. It continues to invest. Uh I tell people I've been in the NetSuite space uh for a long time. When I started release notes uh that NetSuite had were two pages, they're now hundreds of pages. it. The investment that you're getting from your ERP into the product to help you have a better ERP is second to none. Uh benefits of NetSuite to your your business.

06:12Uh visibility, these are all things that people complain about uh in other ERP systems where I think NetSuite just absolutely shines. visibility across. I'll show a little bit of that in my demo. Controls. I can limit my permissions um to different employees to have different permissions to see and do different things within the system. Uh the system is agile. It can grow with you. We have clients that are just starting out all the way up to billion dollars. uh the system is able to has an open API so it can collaborate with uh you know third-party software very easily.

06:50We have a lot of clients in the food and beverage space that write direct API calls to their uh 3PLs to their co-manufacturers. Uh NetSuite gives us that flexibility. And then productivity uh I think that's where NetSuite is by far the the best. uh you it allows you to scale your business and grow 10 20x with very limited headcount increase because it it's going to streamline your processes and make things easier rather than more difficult. A couple of things for the food and beverage industry um that we at Luxent have really worked hard on.

07:35Uh some things just to call out um outsource manufacturing and batch manufacturing, your lot traceability. Um also all the way down to uh CRV tax, California uh taxes, but also in other states, we've we've developed uh processes to put in place for clients to automatically add those taxes on to sales transactions um so that they're not missed. you're not accidentally not charging them and you're not getting the surprise bill. So, I'm going to jump in and do a little demonstration.

08:14I'm going to concentrate on a couple of things here. Um, and I think you have that in a demo slide if I remember right, Brooke. Uh, and the agenda. I'm going to go through some role-based dashboards and how NetSuite uh separates uh for different roles. But I talk through uh the strength of uh a connected platform and what that gives you when you look at things like items and customers and vendors. Um and then I'm going to do a little bit on financial reporting because I think that that's where NetSuite really separates itself from a lot of ERPs.

08:49So I'll dive in. I'm going to share my screen and um we'll go from there. >> Thank you, Scott. So, what you're going to see on your screen right now is uh a dashboard view. I'm logged in as an administrator into this account. You're going to see kind of a boring dashboard with a lot of activity up here. I can go into a million different places. Uh that's because I'm an administrator in here. And uh my administrator role gives me basically access to everywhere in the system to set up to do things.

09:26A lot of my dashboard here is kind of boring and kind of designed around who's logging into the system and from where and when. Um I don't have a whole lot in reminders or anything like that. Uh but as I come in here and change to say an accountant role, I'm telling the system limit me to what an accountant should be doing, what they should be seeing. So you'll see my my menu navigation changes to a much more simplified view. My dashboard becomes much more alive with uh vis visual representation of what my data is.

10:03I have reminders of purchase orders to bill, bills to pay, credit memos to apply. As I come down here, I can see things like where's my bank balance in a meter? Um key performance indicators. So I can see my receivables uh today versus the same day last month and how that trend is moving. I can have that as a visual representation in a graph up here or just see the broad numbers down below. Um I have my bank reconciliation and then I can have some other uh graph representations. So you can see this is my AR aging where what I have in different buckets under or on time uh 1 to 30 days past due 30 to 60 61 to 90.

10:48As you can see as I hover over these it gives me my exact dollars. If I actually click in here, I can drill down into the information behind those. Here's my AP aging in the same. I can see I have a whole lot of bills I should be paying that are passed due. Um, all of this is at my fingertips as an accountant. Uh, you can see up above I these navigation paths are much more representation of a financial role versus my admin which had access to everything. I'm going to jump over to a production manager and we'll talk a little bit about how this now changes to more of a production view.

11:23So now I can see things in a meter like here's number of fulfillments I have right now. I have my assemblies to build, my work orders to build. You can see my shortcuts are specific. My navigation up here is much more around my manufacturing and inventory. Uh even things like my reports are streamlined a little bit in here. As I go down to my key performance indicators, I can see my inventory value uh today versus same day last month and how that's changed. Um here's my actual production scheduling.

12:00So my number of work orders that are in different uh plan versus released statuses. You can see these are all live links. So, if I click on this month or this week, this is going to bring me into a list of what those actual work orders are broken out by different uh customers that they're related to or things like that. Um, this is all based on the role that is provided to a user. Uh, so when I set up an employee, I can assign them one or many roles. Uh you can see if as I jump into my different roles, I can just go over and hover over my name and it shows me the roles available to me.

12:39Uh we can also build these out. So if you have super users that are crossing over things, we just give them different permissions to view and and interact with different pieces of the system and then that expands out what they're able to do. So we have a lot of control over what your users are able to see and do. I can limit PE uh users to specific locations if you only want them to work within a specific location. I can limit them uh on as a sales rep. I can see only my customers and my sales and I'm not uh maybe able to see broad view across the whole organization.

13:15Uh you have a lot of uh flexibility on who you give access to what and how they see that information. Uh the nice thing about this is I can post this dashboard to a user as a starting point but this user still has the ability to add and subtract from here. Uh so as a user I can come in and set up a new KPI and I have this whole list of standard KPIs that are available to me. Uh, and all I do is select one, drop it in, tell it how I want to compare, hit save, and it'll just drop it in for me, and I can I can see that in my list.

13:54Um, it allows users to have a little bit of control over what they do. I can add shortcuts. I can add reminders so that what's important to my day is right there on my dashboard, and I don't have to worry about the noise around me. All right. So within there, I'm going to jump back over to administrator just so I can jump around a little bit without running into any issues uh with permissions. Um NetSuite as a whole is a full full purpose ERP. It's your system of record for as much information as you can possibly have.

14:32Your transactions, your inventory, all of your interactions with your thirdparty systems should be hubbing back into NetSuite. So, I can see all of that information at a button click. Uh, what's nice about your system here, and I'm going to just jump to uh this uh beer item that I have in the system, is all of the pages that you go to are interactive as well. So, if I go to an item and I want to see uh, you know, some details about this item, you know, what is the information I'm tracking? You can see it's in my form.

15:08Here's all my units types that I'm doing. Um, what department and in and class of of items it belongs to. Here's my display name for this hazy IPA. Um, as I come down, I can get into my bill of materials and what revision is active. I can maybe see multiple revisions here to see the difference. Um, I can see, you know, some basic accounting information here. what what are my default accounts that I'm routing all of the expenses and and assets to. But as I come into my purchasing tab, you'll see a little bit more real-time data.

15:48So here's my rolling average cost for this item. I have 48 total across all of my business or all of my locations for this item on hand in eaches. Uh the total value of that is $4,19059. As I come down a little bit more, I can see that broken down by uh location. So I have 42 in Denver, one in San Francisco, three in a storefront, and two in Boston. You can also see my value in each individual location broken down as well. If I scroll across here, I can see what of those 42 are available for sale versus on order.

16:24Uh, this on order tells me I have 20 on a purchase order or transfer order that I'm expecting to receive here to increase that that quantity here shortly. Uh, as I drill into here, I could see things like where they're sitting in each location, which bins they're actively sitting in. Um, I can see in my inventory inventory detail what lot numbers I have and how many are in within each individual lot number. I can filter this by location to see that if I want. Um, if I come over into the sales and pricing, I can see what my price is for different price levels here.

17:05Um, and then as I come across even more, I can see things like uh related records. Um, so if I wanted to see, you know, what where this item's been sold, uh, what work orders it's on, I can do that all from the item. I'm not having to run individual reports to see all of this information. I can even come up come up here um if I want and uh we can generate a little dashboard for you so you can see exactly all of this in one one little dashboard view as well. Um so all of this just kind of flows through the system because I'm on there.

17:44Um, if I come over to my customer, I can see even to the point of what items have I sold this customer, when's the last time I sold them those items, show me all of the sales orders and invoices and payments that this customer has, what their individual aging is. All of this is available just by looking at this customer page rather than going individual uh report by report and hunting for that information. So you can see here's 37,000 in unbuild orders. They have a $13,000 balance broken out by different categories of aging.

18:22Um if I go into my sales, I can actually see what items this customer has purchased. Here's all of the items I've sold this customer. what quantity, what the total was, what the average price that they paid for them, and when the last time they they purchased these from me. Um, so I can do this with vendors and see the last time I purchased, what their metrics are for, how many days late those those maybe have been received from. Uh, you can see here's my dashboard. If I want to see a customer dashboard, um this will give me a full view of this customer's information.

19:04So, here's my KPIs specific to this customer, how much sales this year versus uh pre previous months, uh average days to pay and if that's increasing over time, uh what what their top sales items are if I want. um when their last sales were. All of this is specific to just this customer by just pushing a button. Um really adds a lot to the power of your system to not have to go in and run five, six different reports and just search or filter for this customer one at a time. All right, last thing I'm going to show is a little bit on financial reporting.

19:49Um, this is where I think NetSuite really gives a lot of power to its users in a very easy way. So, I have an income statement that I'm running. You can see very uh simple income statement broken out by my income and costs. Um, I can roll this up if I want to see it at a simplified way to just break this into categories versus individual accounts. I can drill down if I want and expand this out to see the individual accounts and summary accounts uh rolled up together if I want to break that down.

20:20Uh you'll see if I click on any of these numbers, I'll let that open for a second. I can actually see the detail that makes up that number. Um so let's say this $3.2 $2 million that's sitting in this purchases cost of goods account. This is all of the the transactions that break down to get me to that balance. You can see here's my starting balance should appear up at the top. That's my my opening balance. But then I can go down transaction by transaction throughout the year and see how I got to this 3.2 million balance that's sitting in my account as of today.

20:58Uh the nice thing here is one way that NetSuite separates itself from a lot of ERPs is if I have multiple businesses um multiple subsidiaries that operate independently that I need to consolidate up into a a uniform uh books uh NetSuite puts all of those into a single instance. You run as an individual business uh if users in one business don't see the the uh activity in the other one. Um, but what I can do is run a consolidated books uh within the system and this will combine all of those subsidiaries into a single view.

21:36Um, if I wanted to see that broken out, I can run them individually. I can also run this as across uh different columns and see those businesses side by side. So you can see these are my my five different businesses or four different businesses rolled up together to make my 7.9 million. Uh my US one is the bulk of my business uh for income. Here's my US2 maybe. Uh as I get down into costs, the other two entities might just be cost entities. So I would only see uh the costs that I'm bringing in maybe for headcount or things like that.

22:11Um, I can do this uh breakdown by my subsidiary, but I can also do it for things like my departments. Uh, so if I want to see the same sideby-side comparison of my my accounts broken out by department, I just put that as my columns. And now I can see side by side where everything's coming from. I wouldn't expect a lot of my income to be broken out by department, but maybe as I get down to my costs, you'll see some of my expenses broken out department by department. Um that class uh item category that I have, I can do the same thing and see as my business comes across where's the the dollars coming in uh you know, class by class or item category by item category.

22:58So I can see here's my my beverages and mixers. Uh again, I can drill into this and it'll actually bring me into the individual transactions that make up that number. I can uh filter this by uh financial period. So I can see more or less. You can see this more. I can actually uh drill into this and say, okay, I want to see all my beverages and mixers only. And uh maybe I only want to see this in US1. I'm going to hit refresh. And now it's just going to show me specific to this item class in this one business how I get to my $46,000.

23:39So I'm not again not having to run multiple reports. I'm able to just dive in and start slicing and dicing the information. What I want to see is where I'm expecting to see it and how I want it. Uh that's where I'm going to end. I'm not going to jump too deep into operations. I'm going to leave that for the Beer30 guys to talk about. Um, I'm happy to show this information to anybody that wants more detail how or dive a little bit deeper into NetSuite. That's what Luxent's here for. I'm going to turn this back over to Brooke now.

24:12>> Awesome. Thank you, Scott. Alrighty, I am going to share my screen again here. All right, here we go. Back in action. [laughter] And I'm going to actually send it over to the Beer30 team to Aaron to kind of walk us through a little bit more about Beer30. Aaron, take it away. And thank you, Brooke. Uh, if we can just go moving forward. We've talked a lot about NetSuite and all the things that NetSuite can do, but it really does kind of raise the question, what can Beer30 do? The answer's pretty straightforward.

24:44It can do a lot of the stuff that NetSuite can't because as powerful as NetSuite is, and it's incredibly powerful, incredibly capable, and perfect for a lot of businesses, the beverage industry itself is also pretty particular. We have long production times. We've got to tra track track our fermentation, take measurements every single day and work to amend and adjust and and uh manipulate and do interventions that might vary wildly from batch to batch. And that means that we really have to oh got to go ahead and start my video so y'all can see me.

25:15I talk with my hands a lot, but means that we really need to uh be able to track things that aren't necessarily typical of manufacturing in general. And that's when beer where Beer30 comes in because we handle everything from scheduling, task management, recipe management, the entire production process, not just from the brewing step, but all the way through fermentation, the bright tank, filtering, all the way through to sales, quality control, sensory, split batches, white labels, merges, variety packs, co-manufacturing, and anything that touches the actual brewery operations of your business.

25:54that includes reporting, compliance, cost traceability, and we do even have a full API as well as AI integrated uh right into Beer30 itself, giving you an enormous amount of capabilities directly within the tool. But let's take a look at the actual integration between Beer30 and NetSuite. And that's what this chart is right here. Everything that you see in blue, those are going to be the things that Beer30 is going to be handling. Whereas everything in gray, those are going to be the aspects of your operations that NetSuite's handling by itself.

26:27But it's really that orange section at the bottom that's the truly special piece because this this is where both Beer30 and NetSuite work together to trade information back and forth through a fully integrated two-way sync so that you not only have the best aspects of using NetSuite to run your finances, your HR, your inventory, and your operations and the best aspects of Beer30 to run brewery operations, forecasting, material resource planning, tank management, and quality. But you also have a huge amount of flexibility between the two of them because they're talking the entire time, giving you one source of truth, end to end.

27:07And this isn't our first rodeo either because over the course of nine years of working with breweries, we've worked with literally hundreds of businesses in more than 20 countries, not just the US, but Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India, Thailand, the Philippines, and many more. And in that time, we've gotten a chance to see almost every type of business operation and been able to work with them to build the right solution for them. Because customizability is important in an industry where your processes are going to vary, not even just business by business, but even style by style and product by product.

27:40And that's critical because more than 40% of our customers came to us from another existing solution. And that means that we've really gotten to the point where we've earned the ability to call ourselves the most trusted brewery management software on the market. And switching really is easy. Most of our customers are actually onboarded inside of days, not weeks or months like some other softwares. And support is critical to what we do as well. We have unlimited live trainings for all of our customers as well as unlimited live support with craft beverage industry professionals who are there to support you every step of the way because they've actually done this before and they've been in the exact same shoes that you are.

28:20And speaking of be the exact same shoes, we also want your entire team to be able to use Beer30 as well. And that's because we have unlimited user licenses for Beer30. That means that everybody from the assistant brewer to the seller to the pack packaging tech to your sales team are all able to support the business when it comes to data entry, data accuracy, and making sure that every aspect of your business is both recorded as well as managed in the way that you want it to be. Not only that, those unlimited user licenses mean that they don't necessarily have to have licenses for NetSuite itself.

28:56That's a source of serious cost savings across the entire business. And it's not just beer either. You know, even though we are called Beer30, I mean, it's right there in our name, we've spent a decent amount of our history working with other types of beverages because these days, none of us are producing just beer. So everything from spirits to cider to me to non-alcoholic beverages, the hemp space all the way to barrel age products, we've got experience working with all of those. And about 12% of all the beverages passing through Beer30 are in some category other than beer.

29:32And we do build new functionality to support those products every single month. Matter of fact, we do two releases every single week of new features designed directly to respond to the feature requests that we're getting from our community. We also have the ability to handle all of your reporting as well as any of the insights that you're looking to get out of Beer30 and tailor them directly to the actual product categories that you and your business are working in and focusing on. But with that, I'm going to kick it on over to our CEO, Pulkit Agrawal, to go ahead and dive into Beer30 and show us a bit of what the tool can do.

30:10>> All right, Pulkit. I'll stop sharing here. There you go. >> Awesome. All right. Thanks, Aaron. So on the screen here, we should be able to see Beer30. Uh, is that right? Cool. Aaron Brooke. Yeah. Awesome. Cool. So this is the first dashboard. As soon as you log in, you're able to see what's happening with brew filter packing. You're able to see what's happening with your gold standard fermentation. One of the ideas behind Beer30 here is what can we do with your data? Right? We're all used to tracking data in paper log, spreadsheets, whiteboards.

30:38And the overall ethos behind Beer30 is let's actually do something meaningful with the data. And what that looks like is having targets for your team where on the um where on the brew filter packing side they have different metrics that they need to hit weekly and you as the owner are able to understand how that's deviating over time. Understanding gold standard fermentation where you have historical averages and being able to see what the gold standard is for that particular beer. So you can see how things are deviating over time.

31:10Underneath that you start getting into our tank farm. The cool thing about this is again everything is fully customizable. You can have multiple locations, facilities, and even customize things like QC hold. Getting into areas where different tanks can have different statuses. So that way, your team knows immediately what's going on as soon as they log in. From there, let's get into the inventory and purchase order side. With our integration with NetSuite, the cool thing here will be that NetSuite will act as your source of truth when it comes to purchase orders and those ingredients will then flow directly into Beer30.

31:42You'll be able to see what's happening with lot numbers. You'll be able to see exactly what's happening with cost. And the beauty behind this then is that your brewer can actually come into Beer30 and actually build out recipes. Now the thing with Beer30 recipes is that we get fully granular when it comes to things like style targets, ABVs, gravities, ready to package metrics, yeast details, brew metrics, mash, warloff, flow, sparge, boil, whirlpool, knockout, and even getting into things like the ingredients, but more importantly, one of the things that I love about Beer30 is getting into all the actions that need to get done.

32:17So now we get into things like 21-day fermentation seller and all the actions that are daybased actions or gravity based actions such as if you hit 65 Plato raise the tank um spun the beer go from there in terms of holding those all become actions that automatically populate on your dashboard. That's the beauty behind Beer30 is as Aaron mentioned we have unlimited users. So, your brew team is fully in Beer30 and as soon as they log in, they know exactly what actions they need to take on a day-by-day basis.

32:45This really streamlines the entire process, gets them a checklist every single morning and every single day, we send out daily digest in terms of what tasks need to get done. From there, let's actually jump into brew day itself. Brewing does not get much simpler than hitting the nice big green start button. start a brew be able to get into that from your daily steps of mashing in brew log brew editions and knockout as you use the mash in step we will actually be pulling the live inventory values from NetSuite and so you'll be able to pick those particular lot numbers which then makes sure that that's the information that's being passed between Beer30 and NetSuite this makes sure that your two systems are always in sync from a cost side and from a lock traceability side from there as you actually into budday your team is officially using this to actually set up their set points understand what's happening when it comes to deviations and how from a quality side those variables are then deviating from the particular set point.

33:46One of the things that we also did as part of this is as you go from section to section you will have different checkpoints set up to make sure that if somebody has not added an ingredient in Beer30 we will warn you. That makes it much easier from a NetSuite side as well because with that if something was missed on the NetSuite side you'll be alerted and so that makes sure that all those assembly built and work orders are fully in sync as you go through brew ferment filter bright tank package. From there what I really like getting into one of the coolest things about Beer30 is our batch history report.

34:22With this I can see every single brand and batch that's ever been brewed in the system. But more importantly, I can then start seeing all the data points that tie in with that particular beer. So here's my brown sugar ale batch 11. And with this, I can see the overall knockout volume, the yields, raw material cost, packaging supply cost, cost per barrel, and really being able to break this down as to what's happening from a cost of goods summary. This is the information that also then lives in NetSuite, allowing you to fully get granular on the NetSuite side and the Beer30 side based on the different reports that you're trying to run.

34:54We also get into a lot of checks and balances in Beer30 where you are able to set up uh the different checkpoints between brewing, filtering, and packaging. So that way beer is actually into spec and you make sure that it is fully set up when it comes to things like ABV, IBU, color, all the other metrics that you want. That way it's fully customizable. Being able to track that information. As we get into things like fermentation data, you're able to compare different batches over time. I can understand what's happening from a quality perspective all the way to getting into areas such as sensory where I can now use Beer30 to actually have different radar charts and understand just what's happening from a process perspective.

35:36This also then ties in very nicely with things like yeast management where as one of the key industry platforms in the industry. We're able to get into adding fresh yeast, harvesting yeast, again being able to fully customize everything that's present. And from a genealogology side, being able to see how these nodes all tie in together. So if I'm like, hey, there's something going wrong with my brown sugar ale batch 11, I can then start seeing every single node that ties in with it. And from a quality side, this is so critical because you're able to then start seeing which other tanks may have QC issues.

36:11This then also ties in very nicely on the NetSuite side because then you're able to make sure you're bridging the gap from both quality and for the inventory that's being utilized on the brew day and production day itself. From there, I'm going to touch briefly on some of the different reports that exist in Beer30. Starting off with work in process report. This will be again synced up between Beer30 and NetSuite and being in a position where you know at a push of a button exactly how much barrels you have in tank the corresponding dollar values and what that looked like to be able to run your end of month, end of day, end of week reports.

36:45One of the other cool uh reports that we have here is process volumes where you're able to see for the last 12 weeks what's happening with brewing filter packing. again getting very granular to see how things are trending because at the end of the day we're humans that actually like the visualization aspect of what's happening in data and if we're just looking at it from a spreadsheet component it can get very very difficult but in this case I can actually see how my averages are trending over time and what actions I need to take with the team to be able to get more out of my brewery side of the business from there just briefly touching upon things like our command center we fully integrate with Tableau flow and we have a REST API as Aaron was mentioning.

37:28These two pieces allow us to then actually take a lot of the data set that's there. For example, executive summaries, sales summaries, cost of goods analysis, even COGS by barrels and being able to then start trending that over time. So when I look at my executive summary, I can see how the data has been trending for the last 13 weeks. What's happening when it comes to sales, gross margin, brewer to pack volume, beer loss, COGS per barrel. being able to look at areas of the system when it comes to the actual outliers that are happening across the different batches and even getting into some of the other cool reports that tie with tank utilization.

38:02Understanding how often your tanks are sitting empty. Again, tanks are some of your biggest assets. So, being in a position where you know just what that percentage looks like becomes really critical. On the inventory report side, we also get into things like usage reports, understanding just maybe which particular ingredients you can optimize for. Imagine, for example, if you have a beer that the ingredients for the coffee nibs or the hops are all getting much more expensive. Being able to see what that looks like or more importantly seeing which beers you could then substitute with where maybe in this case instead of Simco, I want some Centennial or some other Citra.

38:40And I can then see how that all ties in together. So that effectively becomes a really good way to be able to go through Beer30 understanding the pieces that tie in from a production side. And then finally distribution as beer gets packaged off that'll go in Beer30 into our distribution hub. This will then link over directly with NetSuite and your team will actually be able to make the sales orders in NetSuite and have that information flow through into Beer30. With that we'll be able to see at any time exactly which batch codes you have on hand.

39:10For example, out of my 216 kegs, I have batch 9, 10, 11, 12. Being able to then understand what does that mean when you actually dive in from a product traceability side. That's where the key comes in with that one step forward, one step back. And a number of our brewery customers have utilized Beer30 in order to better understand what's happening from a product traceability, critical control points, passive certification. So all those aspects tie in very nicely on the Beer30 side to close out supply chain loop.

39:41Barrel aging is also one of the key areas as Aaron was saying with different beverages. About 12% of the liquid that goes to Beer30 is not just beers. So getting very granular when it comes to barrel aging, understanding what are the ingredients that have gone into it, the different metrics and the overall cost that ties in per beer and per cask and adjunct that's present. On the nonbeer side of things, we also can handle things like spirit. So for example in the in progress filter being able to handle things like what's happening with heads tails still data column still information.

40:15So we can get very granular with this and as we do more and more demos on this happy to dive in on any of these areas to understand how that goes from a day-to-day perspective on Beer30. So with that I'll pass that back over to Aaron to share a few more slides about what's happening on the Beer30 side. >> Excellent. Thank you Pulkit. Now, we talked about the fact that there's unlimited users for Beer30, but that doesn't do you a whole lot of good if your team's not able to actually make use of it.

40:44And that's why Beer30 is both platform agnostic. It'll work on Apple, it'll work on Android, it'll work on laptop, it'll work on tablet, it'll work on mobile, and it's entirely browserbased as well. No compatibility issues. You just pull it up, log into your particular instance, and your team can is ready to roll. We also have a full permission structure as well because you don't want your sales team messing around on the brewing side. You don't want your brewing team messing around on the sales side and vice versa.

41:12But the point is to have the right people at the point that the activity is happening entering your data live because that's what keeps you off of paper logs. That's what keeps you off of dry erase boards and lets your team not only keep their focus where it needs to be, but make sure that your data is as accurate as it can be so that when it's reflected both in Beer30 and NetSuite, you have everything that you need. And we have real results to to back this up with as well. We have a full set of case studies including for enterprise scale breweries both in the US as well as abroad that we'd be happy to share with anyone who'd be interested in diving in.

41:48But these results aren't theoretical and they impact every element of your business because ROI is the key for any sort of software. So if we're diving into some of the ways that our users have actually been able to benefit from using Beer30, using Beer30 and NetSuite, it comes down to everything from time to close to yield improvements, COGS improvements, and even just a better understanding of what your business is going to be a month, six months, a year, three years into the future as you're able to tailor in your forecasting, understanding where efficiencies and optimizations can be found and drill into the actual strategies that make a difference in your day-to-day as well as your strategic vision.

42:31But with that, I'm going to go ahead and turn it back over to Brooke. That way, we can dive in on some Q&A. >> Awesome. Well, thank you everyone. Uh, that was a lot of really great and interesting information. I might even start drinking beer now. Who knows? [laughter] [gasps] All righty. Well, um, I am going to open up for Q&A right now. If you have any questions, please feel free to put them in the chat or the Q&A panel at the bottom of your screen. Okay, let's see here. Uh, we've got one question kind of coming through here.

43:05Um, and this one looks like it's going to be directed towards you, Scott. How does NetSuite handle a more complex recipe? >> Uh, so NetSuite can handle recipes in a number of ways. So you have your routing steps. Uh you have multi-layers of bills and m or of uh of assemblies. So you can have subasssemblies, phantom assemblies. Um you can have revisions, multiple revisions active, so you can switch out components.

43:40Uh NetSuite is a very very flexible format when it comes to recipes and how it handles them. >> Great. Um, we've got another question that's come through here. So, let me just click closer to my screen to make sure I can read everything properly. So, NetSuite offers al alternate alternate recipes, bombs, production, scheduling, MRP, demand planning as well as Beer30. Um, so why would you take it into another system since you're using a different system for production? Is Beer30 the production engine and does it just pass the info to NetSuite to make a concurrent transaction in [clears throat] NetSuite?

44:16Sure. >> Yeah. So I can answer you from the NetSuite side. Why would you bring it to another solution? There are limitations in NetSuite as far as how far it can go within your production cycle and especially with something like a brewery uh and the complex uh you know quality inspections and things that happen along the way. uh we found that uh having third parties involved is is a benefit but you still want to bring all of that information into NetSuite. So having a good integrated system like Beer30 uh keeps all of the financial information, the inventory information, all of the transactions flowing into your ERP system so you can report on them, but it gives you the power of a Beer30 to actually do the the production piece of things.

45:08And I'll let the Beer30 guys kind of speak to that. >> Absolutely. So, anyone who's worked in the craft beverage industry, and that that's really any sort of ferment or spirit knows that there's a couple things that make us stand apart versus most other manufacturing verticals, which is really what generalized ERPs, as powerful and as capable as they are, are designed for. When you have that long of a production horizon, and we're talking 21 days, 60 days for a logger, long aging periods, you have multiple metrics that you have to track along the way.

45:41You have to do multiple interventions, splits, dilutions, dry hopping, additional adjuncting, sometimes being done not just to a recipe, but based on changes within that process mid-production. That creates complexity that generalized ERPs just really aren't designed around. Same goes for the quality side. Same goes for some of the task management as well. That's really the area where something like Beer30 specializes because we were built entirely around these kind of solutions and these kinds of complex production and that's what allows us to account for that and not just on the production side but all the way into resource planning, all the way into forecasting, all the way into demand planning.

46:23Since all of those things come into play all the way into the point where you're doing your splits andor doing things along the lines of white labels or repacking into to different formats. So that's really the value that you get out of using something specialized for this particular very special vertical while recognizing the fact that there's an enormous amount of things that NetSuite just frankly does better than anybody and we also want you to be able to take advantage of those as well. >> Great.

46:52Well, it looks like we have a little bit of a follow-up question here to to that question. So, production happens in Beer30, then a matching production order, build, issue, completion, etc. gets posted in NetSuite for GL posting or GL costing. >> Yep, you got it. Exactly. So, that's where we go through the mapping side when it comes to assembly, build, work orders, being able to then go through there from step by step where as you initiate different production pieces in Beer30, that information is then posting back into NetSuite.

47:18So it allows you to get the best of both worlds where your brew team, ferment team, package team, seller team, they're all living in Beer30 to make sure that they have an interface that's mobile, tablet, laptop friendly. They can actually track all those quality metrics, but those key information pieces when it comes to inventory, COGS, etc. is being pushed right back into NetSuite for that real time assembly build work orders. And then as you get into more splits and splits, merges, let's say you're filtering a particular beer on top of one another, multiple batches in a row, especially when you get into the bigger size breweries, that's a very common practice.

47:54Beer30 can handle that from a quality liquid perspective, which then also flows through into the corresponding COGS in NetSuite. >> Got it. Great. Okay, one one last question here and then we can kind of wrap up unless any other ones come through. So h how does like a NetSuite Beer30 combo differ from um like an SAP and encompass combination? Looks like someone might be coming off of encompass there. >> Yeah. So I think one of the big things here is at the backbone we're looking at the core between SAP and NetSuite.

48:28So as we get into more of the demos we can talk more about how those should differ. But at the same time, one of the big things ends up being that because Beer30 is so much production and quality oriented. The number of breweries that switch over from orchestrated beer and compass into Beer30 are usually doing that because of the interface that ties in with actually having more production visibility. Having things like tolerances, having things like real-time text email alerts when things start deviating, getting into positions where you're actually looking at the gold standard of beer.

48:58And it's that real-time visibility that as Aaron was showing in some of those case studies, we've had breweries on Beer30 have over $100,000 of savings just based on headcount because that's all being streamlined in Beer30. or getting to a position where, for example, Pelican Brewing, one of our flagship customers on Beer30, was able to switch over from an orchestrated beer platform into something like Beer30 because of the overall production savings and improvements when it comes to cost of goods sold, the overall tank turn where our case study with them is over $550,000 a year and increased production that led to sales.

49:35So, it's things like that where that increase in visibility then allows people to switch over into a production software that's built for the actual brewing side of things. >> And it's important that Beer30 not being built on the same underlying infrastructure as a NetSuite. That's one of the key points of differentiation from some of the other solutions uh like SAP based or encompass based solutions that have been out there over the years because that same infrastructure that lends so much power to NetSuite is also the reason why some of these things are just outside of its scope and outside of what it's designed to handle.

50:08The real key is making sure that your data is perfectly reflected on both sides. And that's why this integration with Luxent and with NetSuite is so critical because every single piece of data that impacts either side is shared real time live between the two. So it's still a single source of truth rather than trying to trade or or pass those through on a ad hoc basis. >> Great. Well, thank you everyone. That was super helpful, I'm sure. Um all righty. Well, I will close us out here and get us get us on our way today.

50:39So to kind of wrap things up, what the typical next steps look like if if NetSuite and Beer30 look like a fit for you. So most companies start by attending an introduction demo like this. So congratulations, you've completed the first step. Um from there, we usually schedule a short discovery call to kind of understand your business a little bit better and get you some budgetary pricing. And then if it makes sense, we'll then tailor a follow-up demo for you and you you and your team focused on your workflows, your challenges, your growth plans.

51:08And then at that point, Luxent will act as your advocate through the purchasing process of NetSuite, helping you land on the right solution, the right modules, and ne negotiate the best possible licensing terms. And then from there, it's all about moving forward confidently and kind of getting started on your ERP journey. [clears throat] So, thank you everyone for joining us today. We will follow up with a recording of this demo as well as a survey for you guys to fill out and we hope to be hearing from you soon.

51:36Have a great day, everyone.
