Challenge
SHINE is a nuclear technology company using fusion-based technology for advanced industrial inspection and the production of diagnostic and therapeutic isotopes. When Nathan Joyner joined as Financial Systems Manager, he knew right away the existing ERP wasn't going to cut it: it wasn't intuitive, user friendly, or flexible enough to keep up with new technology in a fast-paced industry.
SHINE needed quick reporting done directly in the system instead of exporting to Excel, an approachable interface, and a cloud platform that's always accessible, highly secure, and meets the requirements for FDA compliance.
Approach
SHINE assessed its ERP needs and landed on NetSuite as the frontrunner from the start, drawn to a web-based system that was easy to navigate and could support a growing, international company. Picking the platform was only half the job, so SHINE ran a culture index alongside the technical evaluation to confirm the partner fit would hold.
Our results came back as an exceptional fit on collaboration, project management, and communication, backed by a consulting team that knew the validation process cold. Over a five-month implementation, the teams built out processes both on paper and inside NetSuite before going live in early 2021.
Results
SHINE went live in early 2021 with strong user adoption, thanks to an intuitive experience and comprehensive training.
Leadership gained visibility into balance sheets and income statements directly in the platform, along with improved reporting and a real appetite to keep building out NetSuite's capabilities. As Joyner put it, our team did a great job getting them across the finish line, and the team came out confident and ready to keep expanding into more automation and integration.
